I feel the hours start to fold in my hand
Numb and completely vulnerable to no end
Your eyes see what they want
Your mind lies about those whom you love
Idols you're harvesting, pilfered from deities
Creeping tombs of divine
Consumed in breathing, tainted humility
Feeding from the inside
Endlessly straining to see reality
Hazy, shrouded in flies
All thoughts are fading from broken memory
Leaving you further behind
I feel the hours start to fold in my hand
Numb and completely vulnerable to no end
Your eyes see what they want
Your mind lies about those whom you love
Thoughtlessly praising her royal majesty
Craving to bathe in the light
Constantly pleading unyielding apathy
Weaving your new disguise
I feel the hours start to fold in my hand
Numb and completely vulnerable to no end
Your eyes see what they want
Your mind lies about those whom you love
The unfaltering decay flowing free
Black breath blankets the sky
Unrelenting ray of night
What you call principle, I can't abide
Something so cynical, dripping with pride
If I'm so despicable, how come I'm right?
Blinding red, bleeding white
You're the original terrible truth
Pain that no chemical liquor can soothe
Wasted youth, living proof
I'm your unstoppable creeping collapse
Systemic failure enveloped in wax
Heartbreak in black
Thunder cracks
Every last broken glass that remains
As amazing as their first album was (Father of Time), this one is even better.
Gnome produces genius-level guitar work and you've got to hear it!
They claim they're on a quest for the golden riff, but if they haven't already reached it and gone on to look for platinum, my ears must be deceiving me. Richard Lewis
OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
This album is a concentrate of energy. No song is boring, on the contrary each one renews the pleasure. Each song is a classic stoner surprise. Addictive album! Pumpkin Thierry
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
